Oysters are packed fresh prior to dispatch. They are packed in insulated Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company white box’s with a frozen seawater sheet which will defrost in transit. This will ensure your oysters arrive in perfect condition. All orders will include a health mark which will have information about the purification process and who the oysters were farmed or caught by.
We deliver Tuesday – Friday (excluding Good Friday) with APC. Deliveries are between 8am – 6pm. Please select your delivery day when completing your order. Please note delivery to the Scottish lowlands will incur a higher delivery rate and may take 2 days for delivery.
Please ensure you list a safe place to leave the order if you will not be in. We cannot accept liability for spoiled items due to our courier not being able to deliver.
When you receive your order we recommend you open it immediately and inspect your oysters! Please ensure they are all tightly closed (any slightly open can be tapped and if they close are still good).
You should treat oysters as a ready to eat food such as salad and not store underneath any raw meat/ fish. They should be placed into a fridge cup side down and the wet sheet they were delivered with loosely placed over the top. Storing the oysters cup side down will help ensure they retain all of their liquor should they open in the fridge.
It is vital you do not store the oysters in a sealed container or water as they will perish.
As oysters are packed directly from our purification tanks they will last safely in the fridge for 4-5 days from delivery.
