The Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company traces its roots back to 1793, when it was set up by an Act of Parliament, but oysters have been a part of Whitstable’s history for far longer.

The Romans loved Whitstable oysters and were sending them home in around 80AD. Just as popular now, oysters are a healthy, sustainable and environmentally-friendly product.

All our oysters are grown on the company's famous freehold beds and are guaranteed in their provenance by having a protected PGI status (Protected Geographical Indicator) status which ensures their quality.
